GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORSJump to: Original Research papers Commentaries Letters to the Editor Essays Announcements Artwork Specific guidelinesReview articlesScientific reviews of current advancements in biomedical research should be no more than 3,000 words (excluding the abstract and references) and may contain up to 3 figures or tables. The manuscript should include a title, list of all contributing authors, abstract (up to 150 words), keywords (up to 4), main text, references and acknowledgements. Title, authors, abstracts, keywords, main text, references, acknowledgements and figure legends should be submitted in electronic format as a single file in MS Word format (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Main text may be organized into sections with subheadings. Figures must be accompanied by figure legends at the end of the file after references and acknowledgements. All symbols in the text should be Symbol font. Figures and tables should be in TIFF (.tif) or JPEG (.jpg) format. Color images will be printed in gray scale, but will be displayed in color on the web. Movies are only shown on the web. Letters may or may not have a title, and should not be divided into sections with subheadings.Short essaysEssays on topics related to biological sciences, medicine, science education, history of science or University at Buffalo scientific community are welcome. Text up to 1,000 words should be submitted in electronic format as single file in MS Word format (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf).AnnouncementsAnnouncements of upcoming events may be published if they are open to all graduate students at University of Buffalo and are of high significance. Considering bi-annual status and limited space any announcement may be declined publishing without advance notice.ArtworkOriginal artwork and biomedical imaging material is welcome. We encourage submission of images to be printed on the cover of Biologue however depending on the space available, images that fit on one letter size page may be submitted for publication. We currently accept images that have at least 200 dpi resolution in TIFF (.tif) and JPEG (.jpg) formats. Color images will be printed in gray scale, but will be displayed in color on the web. Movies are only shown on the web. Please contact the Editorial Board prior to sending any large files. |
