The mission
of the Department of Pediatrics is to improve the care of
children in Western New York and beyond by:
- Delivering the highest quality care to children.
- Training physicians in the highest quality care of
children.
- Performing research that improves the prevention and
treatment of diseases in children. The internationally
recognized research conducted here has generated over $11
million in grant funding.
Continued ACGME Accreditation through 2010
Following a recent site visit by the Residency Review
Committee for Pediatrics, operating under the authority of the
Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME),
the program was commended for its "demonstrated substantial
compliance with the ACGME's Requirement for Residency Education
without citations." The Program continues its full
accreditation, and the approximate date of the next site visit
