Troubleshooting:
My Palm m515 won't sync through the cradle.
The Palm m515 has been known to have trouble synching to the PC. This is usually
due to a static buildup on the device typically brought about by dry weather.
We do have the ability to fix this problem and it is generally a 24 hour turnaround.
If this is the first time you have had a problem synching your Palm, we recommend
fixing the problem. Bring your device to 229 Cary Hall, where we can completely
deplete the charge and restore your handheld.
If this is a recurring problem, the fix may not be adequate. In this case,
we will issue you a new serial cradle, which is a more permanent solution.
Both cradles are available in the computing lab at 231 Cary Hall and are clearly
labeled. If you are still having trouble, please come to 229 Cary where we
can determine if this issue is affecting your device.
My PDA's battery won’t hold a charge.
If your Palm doesn't hold a charge, it may need to go back to Palm. Contact
Palm at
1-847-262-7256 to find out if your PDA is still under warranty and see if it
can be replaced.
AvantGo doesn’t recognize my UBMobileMed Username and Password.
Make sure the Username and Password entered in "Server Settings" are
your SMBS credentials and not your UBIT credentials. All usernames and passwords
are case sensitive. If you can login to the computers in Cary Hall but not UBMobileMed,
you need to contact the OMC PDA Support Group.
After syncing UBMobileMed, all my information is gone and I am asked to
select a channel.
Prior to syncing your PDA, go to AGConnect and make sure the "Refresh
All Content" box is checked. Then try to sync again.
I tried to sync ePocrates on my Tungsten C and received a corruption error
message.
You can download a patch file to fix this
error. After download is complete, open file and then hotsync your PDA to install
the patch.
I tried to sync ePocrates using the Clarinet ports and received a timed-out
error message.
ePocrates is currently experiencing wireless sync problems via the Clarinet
ports. Please try again if you received the timed-out message. If it still does
not work, try an get to sync at a PC with a cradle/cable.
I get fatal memory errors on my Tungsten C when I try to open the web browser.
This problem maybe caused by a flaw in Palm's browser, in this case please
stop by 229 Cary Hall for a fix.
