The PGY-4 year is divided among the three major hospitals and the Millard Fillmore Hand Center. A three-month rotation at the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo completes the pediatric training. There is a three-month rotation at Buffalo General Hospital on the adult reconstruction rotation with Matthew Phillips M.D. and Kenneth Krackow M.D. Residents participate in the evaluation of private patients of both attendings, where they evaluate patients with hip and knee arthritis for both operative and non-operative treatment. All pre and post-operative evaluation and follow-up is performed during this three month rotation. |
| Starting in 2002 the fourth year residents will spend three months at Buffalo General Hospital on the spine service with Christopher Hamill M.D. During this rotation, residents will have an opportunity to participate in pre and post- operative evaluation and follow up care of patients with spinal injuries and deformities. |
| A three month hand rotation is split between the Erie County Medical Center and Millard Fillmore Hospital. Paul Paterson M.D. manages the hand clinic at ECMC and also provides hand call coverage. The resident spends four days a week at the Hand Center of Western New York (at Millard Fillmore Hospital) working with hand surgeons both in their offices and in surgery at that location. |
