The research programs within the Department are undergoing
steady expansion. For example, we recently obtained a core
infrastructure grant from the National Eye Insitute, and a
research enhancement award from Research to Prevent Blindness.
Currently, research projects range from gene therapy to structural
biology. We are particularly interested in new initiatives
that bridge basic science with clinical problems. Postdoctoral
scientists with established interests in the vision sciences,
as well as those in basic disciplines outside of vision are
strongly encouraged to explore opportunities and collaborations
with in our department. Although we are attempting to provide
up-to-date Web page discriptions of research opportunities
within the Department, postdoctoral level applicants should
contact directly the individual laboratories linked here under
research.
