The following fellowship program(s) are offered:

Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship

Description:
The pediatric ophthalmology division at the University at Buffalo is a national leader in many ways. Our clinical practice has a huge volume with over 10,000 patient visits per year, generating about 800 to 1000 surgeries per year. Our research effort involves many years of continual NIH funding as well as publications - Dr. Reynold's main interest is ROP, but has published in many areas.

Our clinical care is inclusive. We manage not only strabismus and tear ducts, but also glaucoma, cataract, tumors, ptosis, ROP laser, etc. The only surgery we do not do ourselves is scleral buckling or posterior vitrectomy.

The fellow is treated as a junior faculty member with increasing independence. Our emphasis is education in a supportive environment with a wealth of pathology at hand. Finally, the fellow has an opportunity (one half day per week) if desired, to do adult cataract surgery.
