Rationale and Goals: To provide additional support for students
apart from OME. The hope is that if problems arise they might be
recognized and addressed early.

Particular to each mentor. It is expected that the mentor will
contact the student by phone or in person at least once a semester.

method: random- an effort is made to match female physicians
with female medical students.

Rationale and Goals: Provide peer support to incoming students
to assist with the transition to medical school. Big sibs are a
resource to answer any question, offer support and be a friend
as needed.
- Activities:
Structured introduction session during orientation in which the
big sib and little sib take a campus tour and become acquainted.
Following orientation, any contact between matched individuals
is independent of any structured activities.
- Matching
method: Essentially a random assignment. If a second year
student knows an incoming student, s/he can request the person
