The University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
encourages students underrepresented in the medical profession to
apply, and we provide educational opportunities for them. A Summer
Enrichment and Support Program is available to facilitate students'
retention in medical school. The Enrichment Program, designed for
first-year educationally and socio-economically disadvantaged students
admitted to the University at Buffalo, offers a review of the integrated
curriculum, some gross anatomy, and learning-skills development. The
program begins June 1 and runs through July. Academic support (tutorial
and counseling services) is offered during the summer and throughout
the academic year. The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
has a strong retention program; however, each student must meet the
academic standards established by the faculty in order to progress
academically and to qualify for graduation |
