Residency Curriculum & Rotations


Goals and Objectives for all Rotations (PDF)


PGY-I

PGY-I residents are responsible for basic obstetrics and gynecology to include normal deliveries, D&C’s, laparoscopies and surgical assistance on some cases.

 

  • (10) Ob/Gyn Rotations at various sites
  • (1) Breast / Ultrasound
  • (1) Emergency Medicine
  • (1) Family Medicine

PGY-II

PGY-II residents are responsible for first assist during cesarean sections and major gynecologic surgeries as well as occasional complete management of surgical cases. They also have increasing responsibility for patient and floor management. PGY-II Residents also begin to increase the sophistication of their resident research project.

  • (1) Ambulatory 1 (Women’s Health Center)
  • (1) Ambulatory 2 (UGO Inc., Urogynecology Private Office, HIV Clinic)
  • (1) Research

PGY-III

PGY-III residents are responsible for performing cesarean sections and major gynecologic surgery under supervision. They are also responsible for floor and service management under the supervision of the chief resident.

  • (1) Reproductive Endocrinology
  • (1) Internal Medicine

PGY-IV

PGY-IV residents have overall responsibility for all obstetrical and gynecologic procedures at the clinical site under the direction of the supervising attending. They are also responsible for the administrative assignments of residents in consultation with the clinical chief at that particular site. Other responsibilities include coordinating Concurrent Study Series at their assigned sites and coordinating medical student teaching.
