Emily Clementi (Graduate student with Anders Hakansson) has been awarded the The Richard and Mary Finkelstein Student Travel Grants to attend the 109th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology in Philadelfia, PA, May 17-21, 2009. She will present her poster entitled "A human milk protein complex induces apoptosis-like death in Streptococcus pneumoniae".

Robert Tyx (Graduate student with Anders Hakansson) has been awarded the Young Scientist Travel Award to attend the 3rd FEMS Congress of European Microbiologists in Gothenburg, Swede, June 28-July 2, 2009. He will present a poster entitled "Regulation of pneumococcal ABC-transport by dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase".
