Lay Presentation of Research
Faculty members at the Department study how various microbes (such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites) cause disease in their hosts (humans or plants), how the host’s immune system responds to infection and how we can use this knowledge to produce future vaccines and anti-microbial therapies.
Did you know?
In 2008 the members of the Department published 42 papers and Chapters. Faculty, students and postdocs presented their work at 72 national and international meetings.
