Internal Medicine/Clinical Pharmacology Dual Certification
This Training Program can be combined with the ABIM-accredited State University of NY at Buffalo Internal Medicine Training Program B. Upon completion of the combined program, the trainee is eligible for dual certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology.Prerequisites
Acceptance is highly selective. In order to be considered a candidate for the Internal Medicine/Clinical Pharmacology Training Program, individuals must meet the standard admission requirements as set forth by the State University of New York at Buffalo and the Clinical Pharmacology Training Program and must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status.

Length
of Training
American
graduates of primary
board certification
programs in
subspecialties such
as internal medicine,
pediatrics, and anesthesiology
will usually have
completed 3 years
of clinical training
prior to entering
fellowship training
in clinical pharmacology.
The exact length
of the Clinical Pharmacology
Training Program
may be 1-3 years
as determined by
mutual agreement
of the trainee and
Program Director,
depending on prior
training, prior certifications,
and rate of progress.
