Welcome to the website of the University at Buffalo, State University of New York Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.
Our division provides inpatient and outpatient consultations and a wide variety of pulmonary-, critical-care-, and sleep-medicine-related procedures at two major affiliated hospitals, Buffalo General Medical Center and the Western New York Veterans Administration Hospital. In addition, we see outpatients at the Dent Tower offices of UB|MD as well as the Sleep and Wellness Center.
The Division teaches students in all four years of the medical school curriculum and trains Internal Medicine Residents in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep medicine. We have a three-year fellowship program that provides clinical and research education for future specialists in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as well as a one-year Sleep fellowship program.
Our faculty members and fellows are engaged in innovative translational, clinical, and basic research in many areas of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. We have weekly CME-accredited teaching conferences, monthly research seminars, and journal clubs for our faculty, students, and staff that are also open to interested practitioners in the Buffalo area.
The mission of the division is:
- to deliver the highest quality medical care in an academic environment,
- to conduct research in basic and applied biomedical sciences, and
- to educate medical students, residents, and fellows directly and indirectly through medical care and research
