Overview

SUNY at Buffalo Internal Medicine Residency Program is an educationally-balanced program, preparing its graduates for subspecialty fellowship training, academic careers, or primary care medicine. Graduates often obtain fellowships in many highly-competitive programs, such as those offered by Yale, National Institutes of Health, and Johns Hopkins.

The program runs on a modular calendar, with each module 4 weeks long (13 per year, 39 in three years). Ward teams consist of one senior resident and two PGY-1 residents, with medical students, PharmD, and students from other allied health programs add ing a nice multidisciplinary mix. There is a three-year Core Lecture Didactic Curriculum to help ensure a well-rounded, complete education. These weekly lectures are provided by faculty chosen for both their clinical and teaching excellence.
