Residency is a critical component of a physician's education. The Department of Medicine is devoted to molding the residency program into a rewarding experience that will be cherished for the rest of their professional life of those graduating from our program. The Department of Medicine is dedicated to excellence in teaching and clinical practice from the ambulatory care setting to the intensive care unit.  The program is combined with participation in first class research programs to develop the skills of the resident in continuing their medical education.  A diverse range of experience is available in urban and rural ambulatory care clinics in Western New York, and in private, county, and federal funded medical centers.  The breadth of experience provided by our program provides the resident with the diverse background required to encounter the challenges that medicine offers as we enter the twenty first century.
