Overview:

The Women’s Health Track provides its residents with a solid categorical internal medicine experience, along with an understanding of the gender differences affecting the natural course of disease and the social influences affecting women’s health. Track residents share hospital rotations with those in the Categorical, Med-Rehab, Med-Preventive Med and Med-Peds programs.

The program runs on a modular calendar, with each module 4 weeks long (13 per year; 39 in three years). Ward teams consist of one senior resident and two PGY-1 residents, with medical students, PharmD, and students from other allied health programs adding a nice multidisciplinary mix. There is a three-year Core Lecture Didactic Curriculum to help ensure a well-rounded, complete education. These weekly lectures are provided by faculty chosen for both their clinical and teaching excellence. In addition, there is a monthly small-group Women’s Health Track seminar with readings, faculty discussants, and active resident participation.
