Mission

Evan Calkins, MD founded the SUNY/Buffalo Division of Geriatric Medicine in 1979, making it one of the older geriatric medicine divisions in the country. Excellence in education, service, and clinical research form the core of the Division's mission. The Division's skill, depth of knowledge, and commitment to teaching was strengthened with a prestigious Reynolds Foundation award to establish the SUNY/Buffalo Geriatrics Center of Excellence.
