Rheumatology Fellowship Faculty

Rheumatology Training Program Director:
  • Arik Zaider, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine,
    Interim Program Director, Rheumatology Fellowship

    • Dr. Zaider supervises a weekly rheumatology clinic, serves as
      an inpatient consult attending at Erie County Medical Center and
      attends the weekly rheumatology conferences.
Full-time Rheumatology Faculty:
  • Julian Ambrus, Jr., M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine

    • Dr. Ambrus supervises a weekly rheumatology clinic, serves
      as an inpatient consult attending at Buffalo General Hospital
      and attends the weekly rheumatology conferences.

  • Stanley A. Schwartz, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine,
    Pediatrics and Microbiology
Part Time / Volunteer Faculty:
  • Miriam Silverberg, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine
    Veterans Administration WNY Health Care System

    • Dr. Silverberg serves as attending at the VAMC and supervises a Rheumatology Clinic there two half-days a week.

  • Dr. Kaprove and Dr. Grisanti are volunteer rheumatology faculty
    and supervise the residents when they participate in "off-site"
    rotations at their respective offices.

  • In addition, the attending staff members encourage residents to participate
    in research and serve as mentors for projects initiated by the residents.

    Each faculty member is also responsible for specific aspects of the formal educational program, as detailed in the table below:
