The purpose of the Family
Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) is to promote and encourage
an interest in Family Medicine as a specialty by providing students
valuable experiences and opportunities to learn what Family Medicine
is all about.
This is done through
community outreach projects, lunchtime and dinner talks, panel
discussions on the scope of Family Medicine, and clinical skills
workshops. Students will interact with Family Medicine physicians
and residents and learn about the comprehensive care Family Physicians
provide. Students will also have the opportunity to become a
student member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
