| Application Process
Our application process is designed to:
- Answer all of your questions
- Learn about you and your credentials
- Determine your specific interests
in our program
- Introduce to you several of our
faculty members
- Provide the occasion to visit
with our Chairman and Vice-Chairman
- Get acquainted with current anesthesiology
residents
- Tour our clinical facilities
- See and taste Buffalo!
Following an initial screening, based
on minimum requirements for acceptance into the program, applicants
for residency are invited for interviews. The Resident Selection
Committee conducts all-day interviews on four Saturdays during
the fall and winter months. Between 15 and 20 applicants are
interviewed each session by faculty members.
Applicants are our guests for lunch or dinner where residents
and administrative staff are on hand for an informal discussion
of the program. Following the interviews, the guests also
have the opportunity to tour Buffalo, including the University
and clinical sites, with current residents as their guides.
There are a few applicants who cannot come to UB during the
scheduled interview time. For these candidates, it is possible
to set up special interviews during the week. These candidates
are then referred to the selection committee at their next
committee meeting.
