We hope you will take a moment to visit the Society's BAW Web site for aSFN BRAIN MONTH
taste of what is happening in observance of the Brain Awareness campaign
(http://www.sfn.org/BAW/). TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE VIEWING THE MOST
UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION, REMEMBER TO RELOAD UPON EACH VISIT IF THE BAW SITE
IS BOOKMARKED ON YOUR PC.Please note that the Central Office has done its best to keep up with late
submissions of event details for the Web Calendar, but due to the
tremendous volume of late-arriving information we are still updating the
Web Calendar with last minute-details. Interested parties are instructed
to refer to the contacts listed for more information in the meantime.Of course, the BAW Web site is but one vehicle of promoting your public
outreach endeavors. With this in mind, we urge you to document your events
with photos for use in the Society's post-campaign promotions including the
Final Report of BAW Events. Likewise, please forward any press releases,
invitations, newspaper clips, video and sound from broadcasts, or other
materials generated from your events. The sooner we have these materials,
the sooner we can put them to use.Judy Hittman

BRAIN AWARENESS WEEK
March 16-22, 1998
March 15-21, 1999
March 13-19, 2000
This program is sponsored by the Society for Neuroscience and the Grass Foundation. It provides $900 to local chapters to invite outstanding researchers to visit and present talks at the chapter. Any additional expenses are the responsibility of the chapter. The probability of acquiring funds depends upon the length of time since the chapter last sponsored a Grass Scientist, which for Buffalo was several years ago. Anyone who might have suggestions for a speaker who would have wide appeal to our neuroscience community, should contact Chris Cohan to discuss submitting an application for this program.
