The Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) is charged with overseeing the quality of residency education and the resident work environment in UB-sponsored programs. Membership includes hospital, university, and resident leaders. Its work is accomplished through establishing and implementing policies and procedures, overseeing program annual and special reviews, and communicating with residency program directors and Dean Cain. The committee meets at least eight times per year.
Members of the Program Directors Advisory Committee review and comment on proposed GME policies and procedures; share best practices for teaching, evaluating, and assessing resident competence; and organize faculty development training. The PDAC chair is a voting member of the GMEC. The committee meets at least eight times per year.
The Training Program Administrator Committee meets on a monthly basis. Important information and deadlines are communicated at each meeting. Opportunities for professional development are provided and sharing of best practices is encouraged. Peer-to-peer support and networking is cultivated.
